Interesting Poem in our Renewing Life (TM) Workbook:
"LISTEN"
When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving advice, you have not done what I asked.

When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling my feelings.

When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something to solve my problems, you have failed me, strange as that may seem.

Perhaps that is why prayer works for some people, because God is mute and he doesn't offer advice or try to fix things. [editorial comment: I don't agree with this: God is NOT mute; he DOES offer advice, and he is TOTALLY wonderful and awesome at fixing things!

He just listens and trusts us to work it out for ourselves. [and of course, I don't agree with this either....The poet was merely the poet. I'm not slamming Amy's feelings about this poem. This opens up a whole nother theological discussion.]

So please, just listen and hear me. And if you want to talk, wait a few minutes for your turn , and I promise I will listen to you too.--author unknown.

I thought this could make for an interesting theological discussion and since we're talking about listening and communication, for 40 Days of Love.

Amazing! This is a God thing! There are 66 adult Growth Groups this year. This is a 25% increase over last year. There are 664 adults signed-up for Growth Groups this year. This represents about 90% of our weekend adult attendence on any given weekend. Some of the best churches in the country have an 80% small group participation compared to weekend attendence. Praise God
